Just picked a few fresh peppers.........took a photo with my LG phone camera, which I always use on the fly, under the kitchen soft white fluorescent lights. Loaded the pic on my lap-top to send off, and noticed the smaller hot peppers appear purple on the Windows app load, but look as red as can be (like they appear real life) on the phone photo. So took out my Nikon and shot a few more pic's of the same group, downloaded to App and to Imgur.........same issue, the photo's on the camera appear real life, but loaded on the lap-top, still have purple chili's.........all of the other chili's appear as picked and real life color.
So, took the chili's outside and shot them under direct sun light thinking the indoor light caused the issue........:
Same results after download from the camera to Windows App and Imgur.........?
I use this method and App for everything........all my rocks included. Have all of the App settings neutral, no photo shopping tools used..........neutral works best for almost everything I've sent and printed in the past......all my rocks included.
I haven't tried messing with any of the App settings.........never had to previously........and I refuse to "shop" anything I shoot, either through the camera's or on the Lap-Top.......old school mentality here to stay.......lol
I'd enjoy any ideas or thoughts on this anomaly............purple chili's are rare......lol
Note:
To add, I've sent the camera photo's (both phone and Nikon) to my kids and wife's phones..........the little chili's appear red on their phone photo App's..........also sent the photo's directly from my phone and camera to my lap-top and my daughter and wife's lap-tops.........the chili's appear purple on each of those computers. One uses a Dell with Windows and the other a MacBook with Apple Apps......!

Ok......did a little fooling around, since both of the other laptops are here at my disposal. Went to each and reset photo App tools on both (where needed) to..... standard, neutral, normal, each has a different terminology.........also went to each of their e-mail Apps and checked photo distribution qualities. Each are set to a standard format, no adjustments have been made and everything they appear to receive and view is fine.
So, resent the same photo's to each laptop from each of the phones........the chili's show up on each of the laptops as red. Sent again, the original photo's (no mods to the originals) from my lap top to theirs. The chili's now show up red on those...........but my lap-top screen still shows purple.
Now have been through all of my laptops photo, photo-shop and color management tools and Apps........reset everything, that was not already on a default setting, which all but one was...........my screen still shows purple chili's..........lol..........even played around with the resolution, contrast, color and frame size tools. Nothing is changing from purple other than contrast......even completely changing the photo color aspect only gives me a different version of purple.......lol
Even been through Imgur's color management tools........different shades of purple (on my screen) show up after changes.........which I did not save.
oldschoolrocker........Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear you see red.......It must be something on this (my laptop) that's having a problem.....I'm going to try changing the Win10 HDR display settings.......since this laptop came with Win7 Pro and I put Win10 as an add-on back when Win7 stopped being supported.......never thought to check the HD/HDR settings until now..........to be continued.

Well.......just discovered that the processor on this laptop (intel core duo 2) will not support a full and complete digest of Win10 HD/HDR display or play-back. Even though it has a pretty high powered graphics card and current drivers, this monitor seems to be on it's last leg and is being overworked by the bare essentials Win10 requires........no can change. It seems I'm stuck with this unless I run Win7, which is almost impossible now........The Windows advisory site mentions a few fixes (I've done all I can), but also states older compatible processors and graphic cards MAY NOT function at previous capacity......!
Oh well......it's good to know at least the transfer quality so far has not failed (yet)........I'll just have to trust the original photo device images from now on when certain really RED objects come into play........
Maybe this thread will help anyone that discovers image color issues with an older version of Windows that has been "overlaid" and operating in Windows 10....!

I've fixed it........finally........a recent Win10 update caused the problem.......have had other issues in the past with Win10 automatic up-dates screwing things up.
The last two up-dates have tried to make Microsoft Edge my media browsing default.......each time something in the audio or video extensions keep getting changed. Last time it was an audio playback issue. This time it was in the system personalization display settings. Background and color blind red/green settings were activated. Not what I had previously set as defaults........Re-set all values to my norm, re-boot twice and ran all graphic, video, audio, systems through the hoops.......so far, all is good and my little chili's now appear RED on my monitor......lol
I was warned by my IT buddy not to over-ride Win 7 Pro with the free Windows 10 conversion. I was told I'd have up-date problems and would be better off loading the whole Win 10 salami and scrubbing Win7, or purchase a newer PC with the original Win10 and transferring data over..........But I went the cheaper route, trying to keep this HP EliteBook alive as long as I can........I have the knowledge to keep it from completely failing, but the tell-tale signs are creeping up on it..........like I've got 600 bucks laying around right now.......lol.......and that's for a newer reconditioned equal or little better than this one........lol
At last, after several hours and several Blue Moon Belgian White's, my colors are true.........!

I have known people who have had the same type of problems with the auto updates on Win 10.
Luckily my last laptop purchase was only a couple of years ago with Win 10 on it. I have had a lot of updates already and haven't had one problem with them. Thank heaven for that because I doubt I would have had the fortitude to find the problem like you did!

Ya, anymore (last couple of years) most people who have Win10 as their original OS are not having problems. But those of us who chose to just upgrade an older OS with the 10 conversion still do.........unless your running a newer (older) processor like an intel Pentium/Celeron or equal with at least 6GB of RAM, 1.8 to 2.0GHz processing speed and have at least 256GB of memory, as what now comes standard on new PC's, Win10 graphic, audio and video requirements will suffer, like in my case.....I'm at bare bones on this 4yr old machine and have maxed out all of the possible upgrades for it's mother board.......!
It's no secret.......PC's are intentionally made to be throw away after 3yrs......Operating system up grades are the culprits.........each are not meant to keep up with the other........it's not a flaw, no one wants to slow down technologies progress. But there will come a period of time when we've have maxed out our ability to advance the physical technology due to inability and lack of required natural resources needed to economically build machines that can physically handle the theoretical advancements.......!..........and we are almost there now, give or take another 10yrs.....!

The display can a big influence on a picture. What I see on my 22 inch monitor is different than on the 22 inch monitor on another desktop I have. Pictures look different on phones and tablets. I try to get the polish to show on cab pictures don't see it but others do.

These look purple on my iPhone. All other photos look red. All lovely and yummy, though I would avoid those described as hotter than hell!

The display can a big influence on a picture. What I see on my 22 inch monitor is different than on the 22 inch monitor on another desktop I have. Pictures look different on phones and tablets. I try to get the polish to show on cab pictures don't see it but others do. PC monitors have come a long way for sure........CRT to LCD to LED to Touch Screen......each having heat sensitive, aspect ratio, color saturation, power source issues. All related to CPU performance..........It's a science in itself with varying life span capacity.
The advent of digital photo reproduction accelerated PC monitor development. I can still remember the tools used and hours it took to convert raw film photo to a digital format and transfer applications that were all developer prioritized.........costly and lack of quality drove all of us nuts for years. Audio conversion was so far ahead video, we wondered if video was ever to become economically feasible of available........lol
Once perfected, along came digital "photo-shopping" tools........another developer prioritized headache and only as useful as the operator's ability to use them effectively.......still heavily reliant on the original "quality" of the photos being modified.......one of two reasons I personally find "shopping" photo tools to be unreliable and painstaking. The other reason is because seldom do I find any two identically modified "shopped" photos appearing on any two monitors, screens, viewing apparatus, to be the same....... requiring the use of the "tool" over and over again.......Maybe it's just me......lol
If I can't get the original subject duplicated, in it's natural state (if that's my intent) by just having command of the tools (camera/lighting/lens) I'm using, why in the world would I want spend more time and money learning how to manipulate my poorly taken originals (outside of conditions I could not control) with a "shop" tool.......?.......When the time and money may be better spent purchasing equipment and learning how to properly put to use and reproduce original subject matter results initially......?..........But, that's just my mentality.....just like rock tumbling, garbage in-garbage out......!
