I had a great day. With no obligations and nothing but time, I finally took my canvas bag to the parking lot of an old nursery store. Around the perimeter of the lot is a bunch of rocks put down between the sidewalk and the street. It looks like the usual landscape stuff -- brown rocks, dirty-looking quartz and a dark brown/black agate. Still, I thought it worth a shot to see what else it might have. Well, 30 pounds of rocks and probably 30 pounds less sweat later, I was pleased. Here's some of what I got. How'd I do? They look good. Almost enough to keep you busy all winter.

Quite a haul! You've got some great looking rock there. Should polish up great.

WoW you did great. There's lots of neat looking
stuff in there. I really like the stuff in the third pic.
You sound like me, there's a place down by my
son's that's got rock all around the perimeter. I've
done my share of picking there.

Looks like you got some blood and red jasper there. You found quite a treasure trove. Have fun.

Already have a second trip to that spot planned? Nice haul...should have some great results.

Yeah Pho, I was thinking about going back out there today. I only got about 2/3 of the way through the lot.
But I've got to get back to working on this kitchen stuff. I have to show something after being left alone for three days!
