Here's a mix of agates. The recipes was: 60/90 - as needed, which means 2 weeks for the botswana chips to about 6 weeks or so for the others 120/220 - 1 week 500F - 2 weeks polish (CPP) - 10 days soap cleaning - 1/2 day First up, the turitella. I really like what turned out, but most of what I bought rough was full of pits and soft spots, so at least half was rejected before even coarse grind, and most of what made it through coarse ended up in my "seconds" pile, to be run at some future date. This is the good stuff: And a bit closer here: This is some tree agate. Again, a fair bit of reject material. Maybe I'm too picky. This is some unknown agate I bought a long time ago, and decided to have another go at it. I tried to backlight the mystery agate here to show the inclusions. This makes me think it might be something like moss agate. And these last 4 pics are of some Botswana agate "chips". Really tiny stuff, note the quarter for scale in the first pic. I move in closer in the next pics. Don't know what I'll do with such tiny stuff, but I like how it turned out. Thanks for looking!

Oooooo they turned out gorgeous, what a beautiful shine. Boy, I sure know what I'd like to do with some of those small chips. That stuff in the last pic, is that really blue? It's looks stunning! Thanks for sharing ...

Thanks everyone for the flattering comments!
Cher, I checked on the colours, and that last pic is too blue. The other pics are truer to colour. I took that last pic at a different time -- outdoors at midday with no clouds in the sky -- so there was a lot of blue skylight around, making things too blue.
Tinman, the source for this material? The turitella was from the RockShed. The tree agate and Botswana were from Green's Lapidary in Calgary. And the mystery (moss) agate I'm not sure where I got it.... that's a mystery too!
