Just killing some time at work... first up is unknown material. I suspect it's some sort of banded calcite (if there is such a thing). its super soft so dont think it will survive a run in the lot o. so will try to polish w dremel. any help on ID is much appreciated. next is Wyloo agate tho dont think it's actually an agate. fairly soft and fun to work with the dremel. and this last one is my favorite of the 3- Bulico Jasper. got a small cheap slab of this and really like the material. thanks for looking!

Number one would be Calcite (or Aragonite) from cave deposits. Flowstone or stalactite material. Wyloo is a source of a lot of good quality Marble so it could be a type of Marble, it also has some deposits of Amethyst. Great cabs.

AS pauls said #1 is travertine. Cave onyx, Mexican onyx... If you use diamond take it to 8000 and if you use SiC take it to 600 then polish with a mixture of oxalic acid and tin. You can get a mirror polish. Cerium or Al2O3 will also sub for SnO2
