These are some of the preforms I worked on today. I will cab the first row first. I decided that 5 at a time was best with concentration/fatigue. First row Morgan Hill, Tahoma, Mongolian Fluorite. Second row. A slab from Paul which I think is Dead Ringer, Tahoma, Mongolian Fluorite. The first Tahoma was very dark on the face and very light on the back, so I was curious about what it would like so I ground it down a bit.

That's some nice material there. 5 at a time, I can't do that. I can preform a bundle but when it comes to finishing them I have to concentrate on just the one or I tend to skip ahead to get to the next one and end up with everything badly done. Just me, I have immense patience for the job in hand as long as I can concentrate on just that job.

Those are nice materials! What is the bluish gray one on the second row? It's a very handsome cab.

I usually do 11 at a time because when I have time, I can do a lot in a short time, and with good to great quality. If it gets over 11 I usually do one at a time. It just gets to be too much to think about and not enjoyable.
I totally feel what you say though. I prefer to do just one at a time if I have time every day for them. Got 14 on the wrapping table now from 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Just me, I have immense patience for the job in hand as long as I can concentrate on just that job. My color vision is not great. The larger one is Tahoma and typical but not common pattern. The smaller one is Mongolian Fluorite. I work in batches, but take breaks between steps. I look at a bunch of slabs, do the design and then trim all the designs. I've been doing most of my work except sanding on my Genie. My left hand arbor was frozen so I bought another right hand arbor and added an aggressive 80 grit wheel. The 5 is to maintain concentration. Aggressive grinding the preform. Take a break, old 80, 220, 280 soft dop with glue and take a break for the glue. Repeat the process for doming. Take a break, mount other right hand adapter. Make minor adjustments with a 325 sofy. Take a break. Sand and pre-polish; 600,1200, 3000, 14000 and then polish. I figured out the sanding pattern for the shapes I have been cutting and am on autopilot.
