Ok Here are some tool picks for TKW and any others- First up is safty equip (modeled by my pride and joy!) Next is a rock hammer (pick end) these are for harder rock- this is a heavy one (26 oz.) These are chisel end hammers used for softer rock and for prying rock apart (great for fossil hunting!) The wooden handle was found at Herkimer with some chisels) This is a 3 Lb mini sledge (Estwing calls it a crack hammer cause you can crack rock with it) This is a star chisel (also called a bull point) It is great for Big tough rocks- and can be used to drill into rock in collection areas! These are blade chisels (also alled cold chisels) This is what I use for indoor breaking and smaller rocks These are specialty flat wedges. I use them to apply steady pressure to LARGE boulders to get them to fracture (at Herkimer diamond mines) They are made from auto springs And this is my dremel stuff My tile saw And of course My girl doing her best Vanna White with the grinder! Hope this helps a bit!

I have the safety glasses ... or rather a similar pair. You forgot the most important tool .... the tumbler.

Thank you for taking the time to post pics of your tools and explaing what they are used for. This is really going to be helpful to me in my search for tools.
One of these days I am going to get the hang of it all.
Thanks

Kim LMAO Well what I discovered was that I have been taken pix on the work table where the tumblers are running! the vibration is enough to blur the closeups! But it was a good excuse while it lasted!

You have quite a set up, thanks for sharing. I am going to have to get one of those cold chisels one of these days. Tami

Worth every penny- Go with an Estwing- that has the blue plastic grip- they hold an edge better and the grip helps cushion the chisel a bit!

Yea she is daddy's girl- She wants me to teach her how to grind! I told her that we are gonna take her brother's room over soon- then I'll start to let her have a go! SHe loves helping me out (actually she like to wear the safty glass and look at herself in the mirror and just giggle her head off!

Just me again with a dumb question. Does the estwing rock hammer say rock hammer? I've been to Lowes, Menards, Farm & Fleet and I found an estwing brick hammer, that is the only one I found that even looks similar.
