I trimmed and ground the piece, then trimmed some more, evened the slab with the trim saw and then started grinding the shape. Everything was going well until the top third fractured. Ground a new shape which should resemble the finished cab. Left most cab in the picture The none cheesy piece was faced so I glued it to a board. The top third was narrow and pointy so I cut it off. The best slabs were the one on the face and the one next to it (bottom left). I took the pointy piece and glued it the board with material over hanging so I could create a new 90 degree face. Glued the new face to a board and got two more slabs (top left). The best slab was the faced one and the one next to it the poppies didn't go all the way thru so one cab (top right) will need to be a flat top. The total yield for the lot will be about 10 cabs. I bargain hunt and buy less than excellent cabbing material so I need to be creative with the slabbing.
