I don't even have a small pile of rocks, but have purchases made by me and my wife going back almost 20 years. Something will catch my eye and will slab it. My best guess is from the Owyhee mountains.

I looked at some pictures. Does anyone think it is Gary Green?

I'd think no way for Gary Green.
Has some burro creek attributes?

Ok. gary green is wood and this isn't. I haven't seen Burro Creek like this.
Closest appearance is Owyhee but it isn't. Looks like a jasper/agate. dense.

Could be Burro Creek or maybe some lower grade amethyst sage.

Could be Jelly Bean/ Haystack Butte Jasper from Oregon too. It comes in many patterns and colors but I've seen some similar to your example I'd have thought low quality Ammey sage too except Ammey sage is noduler so the slabs are usually more rounded in outline...Mel

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there a recent post by the new owners of the Gary Green claim, giving it a new, and, IMO, completely ridiculous name. Anyway, I’m also remembering them saying that it’s not actually bog wood. Am I remembering this correctly?
Those slabs to look possibly amethyst-sagey to me, but other things sort of fit, too. Very helpful, I know. 😁

I'm with Mel Sabre52 (and drocknut , hummingbirdstones , stephan) on the low-end Amy Sage. Lots of Amy Sage has those fractures in the purple agate part, although this is more of a jasper. Which leads me to Purple Cow, where the purple is more of a jasper. Missing the red jasper that a lot of it has, but I have some with no red. Which takes me to Burro Creek, but the look isn't quite right. And what should I call my Larsonite/ Gary Green/ Caldera/ Freedom Jasper compressed petrified silicated bog mud? Yikes! I'm taking up more room in my Riker case for McDermitt with all the names than I am with the cabs. Craig

One would think that “freedom jasper” would at least be red, white and blue (or at least two of those colors).
