The local Jewelry supply shop is going out of business Last day the doors are open is Saturday
They Have lots of good stuff left and prices are dropping somewhat cabbing supplies, saws blades, machinery, buffing stuff lots of unique metal smithing & glass tooling good stuffs So I stopped in to see what I could get inexpensively
Have long history w/ these folks Spent a fair amount of money with them They certainly don’t give out steaming deals But they were convenient and close
And They always way busy I actually stopped in mostly To give out some rock’n hearts
The one sales clerk as been very very good to me Anyway they were busy & she didn’t have time to look at the hearts I brought in
Jus having fun. Rock on ED

yep Diane ya never been to Lonnies? it was a pretty happening shop not the best prices but lot of stuff on the shelf and convenient I should have offered more that 2 dollars for those 2 boxes of rock I'm such a cheapskate but a little rock goes a long ways I should go over there right now there open to 5 and tomorrow till 2 I suppose last day really meant to hand out rock'n hearts I better get going,,,, at least I'll have tale to tell

maybe someone can help me ? one of those boxes were mainly rough of a dark green rock w/some crystalline feature
when I first look at it I though dallasaite mo pretty sure its not serpentine
closer inspection thought some sort of olivine with peridot but I know that not what it is !
anyone got a suggestion from my scant description?
I got an hour to kill

right on rockstock I saw that standout piece yesterday in the box and they wanted too much money today I scored it for .50 cents i figure it some sort of onyx type material ? someone beat to the rose quartz chunks they were seriously nice o well I got the inside track and handed out rock'n hearts after 20 years of doing biz with them I'm gonna miss having a well supplied lapidary shop right around the corner

I think that the green banded one may be Ricolite. Comes from New Mexico. Nice score!

If we were in Arizona, mohs we'd be on the road to Phoenix. But its 900 miles from current locale.

While you are looking forward to a "cool down" Sunday/Monday ish we are expecting frost and a high of 66 on Monday. Guess I forgot to mention elevation...7000 feet.
