Another one that my son had cut.
He left the scraps for me to try to see if they were worth working.
This was from an agate that barely had anything showing on the outside so he decided to cut it.

It's like Christmas sometimes...
Of course more often than not we don't find much.
And if this particular stone were bigger I would grind the orange part in the center down more- I think it's hiding some of the pattern.

Therein lies the conundrum. Cutting opal is like that. Do I take a little more off and maybe it will be brighter, or will I completely grind off the color bar? (smart)

Knowing when to stop is the hard part.
