Brother, husband, father and grandfather...retired since 2018. Always wanted to shine up some rocks and decided 2020 was the year to start. Did my first tumble in January and added a used trim saw during the spring. I got lucky and acquired an old Covington Mod # 470-86 that had been sitting in a barn for a decade or longer. Next week we are heading up to New Hampshire and then on to Maine to hike and rock. If anyone has any suggestion on where to stop or who to see...that would be great.

2020 has definitely been a year of firsts so why not start polishing rocks haha. We're glad you're here and thanks for the introduction!

In New Hampshire there’s most mountain it’s in the white National forest and open in to mineral collecting only in certain places. You’ll need to stop into the forest service for a permit. It use to be free but maybe $2.00 or $3.00 now I don’t know if it’s has changed to a pay site now to the state. You can look it up online and get the info you need, also find the nearest ranger station on your way here you should also be able to get a much needed map to the collecting site
