That looks far better than my first wire wrap. I think you have the idea down. It's just a matter of doing it over and over and over, and learning, and watching, and listening, and experimenting. Not a thing to laugh at there. It's good!! -Banjo BTW You want to laugh? Here is my first wire wrap- My very first... my very very first!!!

Well Banjo it is still better than what I came out with. I think I will either have to stick to drilling or glueing.

LOL Banjo. Yup I'm laughing at your first wire wrap... only because I've seen how good you've become. It's hard to imagine that's one of YOUR pieces.
NM, that's a GREAT wrap job you did! Love the stone... looks almost opal-ish

You did very good on that, I like that stone, it looks nice in the silver with that matte finish.

Nothing to laugh at here. NMrocks, I think it's beautiful! Love the stone and it looks very shiny and wrap sure looks great for a first try. Banjo, if that was your first wrap, maybe there is hope for me yet. Mine are getting much easier and looking much better, but I still have a hard time getting uniform wraps around the wire. Your's always look perfect. Any hints for a beginner? Trish

NM, that looks great! You actually followed the instructions. Great job! Want to see what happens when you just wing it? Well, it was fun, anyway cookie

susan you have a knack for it. quit playing in those unshiney rocks and get to work! can't wait to see your next one.
banjo i have to admit i got tickled at your 1st one. man you have come a lonnnng way. and that should be inspiring to anyone thinking they can't do it.
i have such a mess here i can't even find my new supply of wire. i found the bill but where did i put the wire?? pitiful! i started on a clean up of my rock room as it would take a one-legged kangaroo to get through there. i think a two-legged one can go through now lol.

NM that's just great! Excellent for your first try - love the stone too! Banjo I love how far you've come, you should have done like Sands & have a progression of pictures of your wraps to help others (that would be interesting) I still think we should have a thread for finished works (whatever they are)

That is a great start. Looks like you have a natural nack for wire wrapping. Tami

After seeing Banjo and Cookie's first wraps, I feel a little better. LOL. Cookie, you're supposed to WRAP the stone, not put it in BONDAGE. Anyway, I must learn to master the wire. Now I just need stones. (I finally have a mixed batch IN POLISH. Booya! should be done next Thursday). Lots of firsts lately - my first experience with plastic pellets this week, too. (#*!#%@*!) Hopefully I'll find time to play with the Rock Rascal. S

Someone mentioned a thread showing a progression of Sands' wraps? I wasn't aware that Sands did wire wrapping. [ S The progression I was speaking of for Sands was for his cabs - if he's wrapped, I haven't seen any! But I think we all can learn from what others have experienced.
