No matter, whack whack... It dont show in the pic, this rock is blueish in color. This one is green - This blue and white striped one is pretty cool.. when I flipped it over, I was amped for about 2 seconds... Gotta love that PYRITE!! Thanks for looking.. Jimmy

Hey Jimmy, doesn't pyrite appear as little "cubes" Are you SURE it's pyrite? Can you scratch it? Make sure it's pyrite before you toss it! The banded brown one looks very interesting
Good haul!

Hey you got some really nice stuff, that chocolate /white striped one is just cool! I know nothing about pyrite or gold but it sure looks good. Don't know where your located though ... are you in an area where gold has been found?

Pictures don't come up for me Tweetie, I always call those cubes "Fools Gold" and the ones that aren't in cubes, Iron Pyrite. I know it's exactly the same thing, but in my mind it just makes more sense I think the difference between the 2 is it depends on the conditions while it was forming. kind of like lemon meringue pie. If you make the meringue in HOT weather, it won't peak. if the air is cooler, it's easier to manage.

What a beautiful bunch of rocks! You're going to have fun. That really does look like gold in the picture. Sure it's not? Trish

My neighbor has a nice green stripped rock that's pretty hidden by her cedar bush in front - I was pretty tempted today to swipe it

That green one is really nice too. You sure you just want to toss them in a rock garden?

I just recently saw some pyrite and that is not pyrite, I am with Tweetiepy I would test it first. The gold that I bought on e-bay had some quartz attached to it. The rock in the second picture looks like the blue quartz that I just bought from the rockshed. You found some beautiful rocks. Tami

and that's why it's called "FOOLS GOLD"... lol It looks more like gold because it been smoothed from the water wind and sand from the river bed... kind of nugget looking. Here's some pics from that brown and white rock that you all might find interesting: Both these rocks were found about 20-30 yards apart. First set of pics were taken when we got home at 9:45 PM. ..land of the midnight sun don't ya know. Yep, this area is known for its GOLD and PYRITE. Also suppose to be lots of hematite around here, but have not found it yet... and stefan, i'm working on it.. just can't keep from punching holes in these 55 gal drums from a load of those 25-30lb'ers.. ;D ;D thanks, Jimmy
