I had a friend who was a rock hound and loved rocks. She eventually was diagnosed with the dreaded disease and was beginning to disperse her rocks. I took one and made it into a night light for her and another for her best friend with the message that you two are going to be spending many sleepless nights and this is one way to know that folks are thinking about you. Needless to say the nightlights were appreciated and cherished. I apologize if this seems to sappy. It happened.

I guess I do tend to apologize for my nightlites made from thin slabs of agates, in the spirit that they are somewhat "craftish". However, I've never given one to anyone who did not appreciate it after they had seen it in the wall socket. The ones illustrated in this thread are above such criticisms.

dandresow: Thanks. Haven't done anything with rocks for years. Just fixed an older HP 18 inch and dug out a 10 inch and 18in Lortone and I have a couple of trim saws and need to make something to cab with. We stay broke and I only have enough to put oil in 1 Dec 1, 2024 16:49:20 GMT -5 *
