Just finished up a load of mostly local agate and petrified wood. It's been going for about 6 weeks. I haven't had a chance to burnish them yet but I couldn't resist taking a picture of my two favorites. This one along with another were big surprises once I wore off the outer layers. This one is a tiny little slice I took from a larger sagenite rock. It has an awesome pattern. Still trying to figure out how to cut it up to use. The rock is too big for my little 4 in tile blade. I'll take more pictures of the batch tomorrow when I have more daylight.

I'm excited to see what you end up doing with that second one. It has some amazing patterns and colors!

Woo it was a busy week. Didn't get to the rocks until last night. They didn't turn out as shiny as I'd like. I'm going to run them another day in polish. I find that the Raybrite polish seemed to work quicker than my AO from the rockshed. Not sure if it's just the material I'm tumbling or the media or polish. Still learning

I just picked up grit and polish from the Rock Shed! So, I've got my fingers crossed and I'm hoping it's the material!

Grit from the rock shed is exactly as advertised, no worries. Virtually cannot buy from a more reliable source

Yes, anytime you are unhappy with the result or get some chips, go back one or two stages and run again. If you have some that are good, then remove them and backfill with tumbler media. I currently have some Brazil agate in a 6 lb tumble, that I wasn't satisfied after polish and returned them to stage 2. It happens...

I have a lot of rocks that just turn out being driveway gravel or returned to the wild. I have started prefering mohs 7 stuff lately and it works out fine. Your rocks look like they are worth it. I would stick with the plan and keep trying! They look like they have been in dry polish?

Yes one side of the vibe dried a bit. It's always on one side for some teason if I don't babysit it. Are the Loto's the same way? I tend to work 10-11 hour shifts and can't check on the vibe during the workday.

I usually don't have to check very often after about the 5 hour mark, so maybe you could start your batch 5 hours before you sleep, and check before bed and before work?
