This is a load of Apache Tears I did. Ran then in 60/90 for 4 days, then 120/200 for a week, 500 for two weeks and CO for a week. Finished up with two hours in borax. I also had to use borax in all phases because of the gas buildup. Pho

The story is a long time ago some Apache Warriors were trapped upon a mesatop by some soldiers. Not willing to be captured the Apache ran their horses off the mesa, falling to their deaths. Their women, upon seeing their bodies began to cry. When their tears hit the ground they turned into "stones". That is the one I know of.

Soooo pretty, Pho. I'm surprised as KD, geat shine without 1000 or tripoli. Wondering what they would look like with it. Hard to improve on a shine like that, though. I've got 2/3rds of your pet wood in polish now. After a lot of borax burnishing I not only got most of the tripoli out, but it went in to polish as shiney as most of my finished batches. I'm gonna do you proud, dude;)

Those look great! I know apache tears are kind of round to begin with, but I'm shocked that you got them so smooth with just 4 days in coarse grind. Way to go!

They do look great...I am surprised about the 4 days in 60/90. I started a batch a couplke of weeks ago and ran two weeks in coarse. I'm using a 12# thumblers that seems to be rotating a bit slow, maybe thats why they took so long for me...They are in fine now... csroc

This batch was pretty clean when I started them..not very much garbage at all on them. Guess I lucked out on that. Am getting some more from Arizona soon.

Nope, Pho, think I'm going to hang on to it. It's going to make some beautiful jewlery. I plan on doing a line of pet wood stuff, necklaces, earrings, bracelets. I'll post pics, of course.
