As most of you are all too aware, when we turn out a beautiful batch of rocks, some are keepers, some are not. A three lbs load for me, since I break rather than cut my rock, only yields about 1/4 usable stones for my jewelry making efforts. But the majority of the batch is beautiful, none the less. What to do with them? Here's my latest idea. Drink glasses: I've started collecting different and unusual drink or desert glasses to put the rocks in. At antique malls I can find inexpensive and unusual carved and cut glass objects. If I want to give them as gifts, I'll just bag up the rocks separately. Anybody want one? ;D cookie

The one on the right I actualy won in a Trivia contest at a local tavern. Won 2, in fact. My husband and I used to love going to these trivia games, lots of topics, and if you get a group together, everyone has a "specialty". We won these with just the 2 of us. I have some etched antique dessert glasses I haven't pulled out yet, kinda waiting to see what you guys think. Now I'm thinking, margarita glass, green adventurine. martini glass, clear crystal. clear crystal as "ice" in a pet wood highball... ect, ect... cookie

Those would be especially good for small tiny leftovers too as they really fill up the glass! I love the idea - kinda like those pics of the "rock food"

(I appologise in advance) Yeah, I might get "stoned", "smashed", "whacked", if I "polish off" too many. Anyway, it sits in your gut like a rock.
sorry.
