Since I'm waiting on some dremel burrs I figured I'd give my tile saw a workout last night. Here's a few that I think will turn out nicely. Thanks for looking. The first is an unknown agate from Walt... The next two are Fairburns from a slab my son cut and gave me to work. #1 And #2. Trying to decide which side will be the front. I like this side but I don't think the patterns run very deep... And the other side, including a pic of the middle of the stone showing the pattern inside...

If it were me, I'd go with the first pic for the front on Fairburn #2, but it depends on how deep that pattern runs. I guess it really depends on how much more material loss there's going to be...
I like the pattern on that first Fairburn as well...yeah, I know, real big surprise that I'd like a Fairburn...any Fairburn! LOL

Nice preforms Mike. Love the second one's pattern.

Nice preforms Mike. Love the second one's pattern. Thanks! That one is of course my favorite of the three also...

Well, I started working this one last night and it's not exactly the shape I was going for. Part of an end fractured and fell off...but I am happy that I didn't lose too much of the fairburn patterns. Oh well, I'm going to stick with what it is now and polish it. Thanks for looking.

I like that shape! May not be what you were shooting for, but it's a beauty.

Wow, right along the yellow "line". Interesting. Of course it's still going to be beautiful. I think I can make out the fracture line in the original picture, just slightly down from the top on the right hand side...

I like that shape! May not be what you were shooting for, but it's a beauty. Agreed. And that is one reason why I like free-forms, especially when working with material that might be fractured. If a piece falls off, it's usually harder to tell, and easier to adapt.

I worked #2 last night and thought I'd show the progress. I ended up using the first side and didn't lose much of the pattern. Should be in the vibe soon, thanks for looking!

Love it!! Great job. Freeforms are so interesting and unique. Are you going to groove wrap, regular wrap? I think you chose the better side for it. It's going to look awesome when it's fully finished. Sidenote: I am willing to offer up my garage for any homeless Fairburns you see rolling around

I don't have the equipment to groove wrap- yet. I'll keep your garage in mind, just in case! 😁

Well, you better hurry miket. I just got a whoooole bunch of rocks. Space is a premium, there's only like 400 square feet left
