Thanks for the kind remarks guys! Some of these still need a little more polishing, but many were gorgeous. I’ve been lurking on this forum for months and admittedly wondering if I’d ever get any pretty rocks out of my dirt road/gravel pile finds!😂 I love these green/salmon colored ones (maybe unakite?) but of course, they aren’t easy for newbies like myself to tumble and polish successfully and are far from perfect. Also, some of the clear ones had internal fractures. 😂 But, all in all, they make me happy and satiate my pretty rock addiction!😂 My first “purchased” batch of rocks is of Mexican Crazy Lace and has been in my Thumler AR-12 since September 2. Hopefully next Monday they’ll be ready for the vibe! Also, I want to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge and being so supportive of all newbies like myself. I “discovered” 😂 rock tumbling in April, (I honestly had never heard of it) and since then have walked, talked, researched, and basically obsessed over it since!😂

Good job. The green and salmon ones could be Unakite.

I know I'm going to attempt a batch of these at some point in the near future and I'd love to see where they're at before/after they go in the vibe...I guess I'm just begging for more pics of Crazy Lace agates...their my second favorite of all the rocks!

jasoninsd I just checked the Mexican crazy lace that’s been tumbling since September 2, and was hoping they’d be ready for the vibe! They aren’t unfortunately! 😂 But, before I put them in the vibe, I’ll definitely post the pics.🤗 Mexican crazy lace is my favorite rock so far, I love the colors and designs. Now I’m trying to figure out what to tumble next🤔 Any recommendations?

Now I’m trying to figure out what to tumble next🤔 Any recommendations? Recommendations from me? Not yet! I'm still working on my first tumbles in both the rotary and vibe. I've got my fingers crossed the vibe will be done by Friday...then I'll know if I've had my own "first tumble" success! LOL I have five or six 5-gallon buckets of prairie agates and bubble gum agates my wife and I have been hounding this summer. We have another 4-5 gallons of various other rocks we've picked up as well. (Not to mention the 13 tons of river rock we have for landscaping around the house!) I think those will be what keeps me busy tumbling for awhile. I have one Fairburn agate I found today that I think I'm going to put in the vibe on the next batch. I wouldn't normally want to do that with any of the Fairburns I find, but with this particular one, my gut tells me I should. Fairburn agates are my favorite rock...strictly because they're from my neck of the woods. However, Crazy Lace generally has "more" pop in the rock and so I find them just flat out drool worthy!

jasoninsd You guys are fortunate in that you have native rocks worth tumbling! I live in West Virginia and coal seems to be the only common rock of value! So, I’m always checking out landscape rock too.😂 Otherwise, I have to buy my rock. Being a newbie, I’m not familiar with the best places that have quality rock. So far I’ve only bought stuff from the rockshed and Kingsley North. I love unakite, and thinking about labradorite, Rhodonite, and moonstone, etc. etc.🤣🤣🤣

She thought we'd come up with some "project" for it! I guess I hadn't thought past the actual production of the tumbled rocks! LOL I will agree. We are lucky to have so much available native rocks from which to choose for tumbling. I know the prairie agates look amazing tumbled. Eventually I'd like to get into cabbing and then I know my interests will extend to non-native material (e.g. picture jasper!). I've been to The Rock Shed several times over the last month or so. You can't ask for better people...and material. I looked at their crazy lace rough a couple weeks ago...just to get a perspective. I can't wait to try some from rough to finish. I have some crazy lace cabs I got from a generous member on this forum that are in the vibe right now...been drooling over them for awhile now! Several of them are spectacular!

jasoninsd 😂😂😂 yeah it’s funny that you can get into this rock obsession without thinking beforehand of what you’re going to do with them! Although I’m planning on trying to make some charm bracelets, beyond that I’m probably just going to accumulate tons of pretty rocks that I’ll store in my antique canning jars and every now and then dump them out and play with them like a big kid!🤣

I think I'm going to have enough to create my own "ball-pit" like at the playland at McDonald's! I'll have to post the "No Diving" signs I'm sure! LOL

jasoninsd 🤣🤣🤣 I bet if someone did a survey of successful rock tumblers they’d discover most have stock piles of pretty rocks, like “the cave of wonders” in the movie Aladdin!😂 But, I must admit I do love the idea of play pits full of polished rocks!!! Actually, there’s a lot online about the therapeutic use of rocks and crystals...maybe market “immersion therapy” where people could sit in kiddie pools full of polished rocks!?🤔😂

Yep. I can see it now! We'd have to hire Madge from the old Palmolive commercials!
Weary person: "Madge, do these tumbled rocks really do anything?"
Madge: "You're soaking in them right now!"
LOL
