Placed an order because I needed a BW slab to make earrings and bought some other pieces. Tahoma, Nellite, Biggs, Butterfly Wing. Total was $30.25 including shipping and there was a $5 bill with the order. I will get two single cab slabs from the Tahoma. The sagenite was a freebie.

New order arrived today. Jelly bean. A moss freebie, Tahoma rough that will produce two skinny cabs, paisley (new to me). Blue Mountain which is questionable but I bought a slab off the piece of rough and the came out good. $17.25 for the lot and $10 shipping. He credited back $5 maybe because I'm a repeat customer.

Just received a sizable order from them and noticed the following on their website: All orders are charged $10 for a USPS medium flat rate box but if it fits in a small flat rate box we'll send back $5 via Paypal/International shipping..we pay 25%..email us > info@blairock.com Guess they just skipped the Paypal part. Good place to get nice material at a fair price. The slabs are generally small but are listed accurately. Like most places you need to account for the pictures being brighter/more colorful than reality. The freebies are a nice touch and we received some pretty nice ones, but also a couple I wouldn't even bother throwing in the tumbler. Overall I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

It's like going through the bargain bin at a show. Arrived today, Jellybean, Tahoma, Butterfly Wing, Woodward Ranch plume. Not the best but hard to find.

Since there have been different experiences with Blair, I thought I would show my latest order and describe each slab. Linda Marie, thin and even. Butterfly Wing a heel that I made a slab from using a slab grabber. About what I expected and may be usable. Laguna Lace, a hair under 1/4 inch and even with no significant defects. As a slab it is unattractive but has some nice patterns. Mexican Flame agate, uneven, 1/8+ to 3/8 with most 1/4+. I should be able to get 2 cabs from it. Opalite was the freebie and three dollar bills included as a refund form the $10 shipping cost. Total cost with refund $31.25

There shipping is now $15. I wanted the jellybean (upper right) and added two Linda Marie and a Lace to reduce shipping. '

I had never heard of them. Looks like a good place. Why does my eye always go to the $20 slab instead of the $3 ones?? I like your latest lower right.

I really like Jellybean jasper. Most of it looks more like peanut butter. Blair has a piece of rough that looks like jellybeans (bottom right). They changed their shipping from a flat rate $10 to $15 but they included a $5 bill with the order. All slabs were around 1/4 inch and even. I buy other slabs to save on shipping. Top row jellybean, a soso luna that looked like the picture, a freebie. Bottom row Belvedee jasper. They can be off on their ids but it is a large, solid slab with a lot of color. $31.25 with the shipping rebate.

I know I've said it before, but I've shopped there and done a review, too. But, your recent post made me want to go and check them out again. I think I got 12 items. I love the variety they have. It's cheap enough to get some and try it out before you get more. Lots of interesting stuff. Not always the best quality, though. But, good enough if you just want to pick out one good cab. Avg slabs are 2.5 / 3" square.

The people who own Blairrocks live and operate literally a couple of miles away from me! I have bought slabs from them a few times and he just drops them off, pretty cool. Just thought I would share.

Shipping has really affected my buying, for what it's worth. Rocks are getting costly enough but then throw in $15.00 for shipping, forget it. Shipping around $6.00 to $8.00 bucks is acceptable but not $15.00.

I buy a lot of cigars on the internet and over the years shipping can be free, flat rate or variable based on the number of items ordered. I have a strategy for each and for flat rate I order more to reduce the cost of shipping as a percentage of the total purchase. I use the same strategy buying lapidary. I've been buying from Blairrock for a while and he frequently will put a $5 bill in the package to cover the difference between a priority small rate box and what he charged. I've been buying from West Coast Slabs and Rocks at facebook and he charges $16.50 flat rate. When I can't find enough items to justify the shipping I wait. When I ship, I use a priority mail large flat rate padded envelope for $8.75. I put the slabs in a wooden cigar box that will file in the envelope. When I sell on Etsy I buy a first class label for $4-5. Yesterday's order from Blairrock.
