The first one came from manofglass and I feel like I should know what it is. The second is from a random pile of slabs that I bought at a rock show. I want to say amethyst but it doesn't act like amethyst that I've worked before. Thanks.

Second one could be Chevron Amethyst I don't know...the Chevron Amethyst I worked was different. The slab of this one fractured quite a bit when I cut it and it seems like it has a lower mohs... But again, I don't know much- you could be right.

What Jason said. The first one looks more like calcite than agate to me. Hard or soft?
Not gonna guess on the second one.
Nice work on both.

The first one is hard, I'm fairly certain that it's an agate of some sort. I worked another piece of it last night, I'll get a pic up in a little bit.

That second one look really similar to the Mongolian Flourite in this thread. It does look similar...thanks Robin. I should have asked when I bought it but I was in too big of a hurry to get out and hound! 😁

But again, I don't know much- you could be right. If it was softer it definitely could be Morado Purple Opal. Not sure how that cuts but I know it is softer than amethyst.

I just saw this on Etsy. I think it may be Morado. Sure looks like it down to the orangy crystal colors.
