Well, it finally happened; wore a hole right through the lid of my Thumler. I'm mostly just amazed it took so long. I believe it's an AR-1. 2-3 pound size anyways.
Now, I don't want to spend a ton of money on a fix either, since it's my only Thumler but I want to keep it going since everything else is in good shape. Does anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive DIY lid replacement option?

New lids are $4.25 at The Rock Shed.
Next time you notice a lid getting thin in the middle, build up some some strips of electrical tape on the inside. Easy to get another year out of a 60/90 lid if you keep an eye on it.
