I haven't done any trimming for a while. First picture: 4 preforms of Dead Ringer from altamont, Dead Camel (I think) from Paul and Owyhee from Tony. Second picture: Using an ice cream analogy there are 31 flavors for MHPJ. The material hookedonrocks has is what appears on the best thing I ever ate show. I have a customer who likes a particular flavor that I get from a seller on ebay. He has switched from selling by the piece to by the pound. I messaged and he found a 4oz and a 14oz piece. I glued the pieces to boards and other than the facing cuts and kerf, lost nothing to the slab saw. The larger piece has 6+ preforms and the smaller piece a freeform and a pair of earrings. I should be able make some cabs that the customer is looking for. For me, finding the right material is one of the most important parts of the hobby.

I was able to work around problems. One has a surface vug that hopefully will grind off. The ones marked B are raw on the other sides and either they will be tops or use the cab machine end flat lap (my new favorite tool) to smooth them out.

I used up all my quartzy Butterfly Wing and bought a piece of face polished rough. I only got the one slab and cut to preforms today. Most of the white should grind off.
