I've been looking for this piece for some time and when looking through some Riker boxes for something else, I found it. The story is that I bought a small piece of very special rough and didn't have a slab saw. My wife sent it to someone she bought cabs from to cut with the standard arrangement. The face on one of the slabs was botryoidal and my wife had the same person make a pendant. The material is not exotic and is found in California. Any guesses?

Botryoidal chalcedony occurs in many places. I have some material similar to yours from Nevada but it occurs worldwide. One of my favorite types is this bubbly blue chalcedony from Malawi.

Here's a clue: I made multiple cabs from the same piece and the others were either given away or are in the do not touch box.

I like how the texturing kind of mimics the bubbles.
