@rocks2dust, this is from same material as one with bear. does it help any? That's gorgeous! I still can't get the brain cell to do more than flicker faintly. The only other thing that comes to mind is Prueheart, depending on how it was sliced, so could maybe be something from that area. i had to look up prueheart and did notice some similarities in the colors, especially the blue/green. thanks again for your help with possible IDs!

Terrific work! My favorite is the fourth cab. It looks like there's a cave near the bottom of a rock cliff.

Maybe the bird hatched out of the Skaggs?
Is the unknown pink one Imperial?

These are all stunning. How long does it take for you to shape/polish a cab from start to finish? (And do you use a flat lap or a grinder/other?) I have a flat lap and am interested in starting to cab but I need to get some dopping materials first. Also photos are perfect from my screen

I may be wrong but that is my general understanding. I tried and was utterly incapable of using a dop stick on it, but I do dop with wheels.

Maybe the bird hatched out of the Skaggs? Is the unknown pink one Imperial? would help to explain all the cracks in the skaggs lol. I though the finished cab looked like imperial also but the rough looked a little different to me.

I use the diamond pacific genie now. as for how long it takes- I'm still pretty new at it and probably slower than most. but kinda hard to say on time because I usually work on multiple cabs when using first 3 wheels and then start to finish them individually from the 600 wheel thru polish.

Okay! Thank you; is there an alternative? To dopping? Yes, your fingers. I'm just saying you might find it harder to do with a dop. Try it both ways.
