Very recently i purchased from amazon.com the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Hobby Rock Tumbler Kit: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LQCIL88?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_titleI imported it from USA to Poland not giving to much thought to the voltage requirements, i was of the mindset a simple USA to EU travel adapter would allow it to work here. The product states it is capable of both 110v and 240v. Here in Poland we run on 220v. I am no expert in electrical devices and currents. Can anyone advise if i purchase a simple USA to EU travel power adapter that states 110v converted to 220v, will that suffice to use it here safely? If not, is there any other options to get this running safely? It is a present for my daughters birthday next week so hopefully i can figure this out before then. Thanks in advance. Alistair

Make sure the transformer is rated for the watts that the tumbler requires.

Are you 50hz or 60 hz? that will make a difference.

Sorry, having verified this closer, in Poland it is actually 230v 50hz.
This tumbler device only costs $60 in the US, i ended up paying $120 to get it here with freight + import charges, therefore I would really like to avoid spending another $100 or so on a transformer if it is not necessary. I am reading so much differing advice on the web, some of which would indicate a simple cheap travel adapter is all that would be required - i can pick one of these up for a few bucks so it is very tempting, but it would be a disaster if it resulted in burning the device out, whereas other information points towards the requirement for a proper transformer device.

When living in Germany as a military guy, we bought converters (110 - 220 V) for our electrical equipment at the stereo shops... Try that.. Enjoy the fun..

If you run it on 230v it will run very fast for a very short time, then it will be toast.

Is there a switch on it to change the voltage, if there is change it to 230V and you should be good to go. If not get a step down transformer (230V in to 115V out) Also when you get it running get some polish powder, the packet called polish that comes with the kit isn't, it's only a prepolish.
