It's been a while but finally got down to make a few more cabs. This is a piece that broke so I cabbed what was left. Gotta give credit to stephan for the name!

Wow! I could get lost in there. That is wild material. Thanks for the tag. 😁

Holy mackerel! The dimensional depth within that material is off the charts! It's absolutely amazing!

That was fresh off the grinder so the green is actually the dop wax Without that it's mostly clear, so the green really makes it pop.

That is gorgeous! I think you should seriously consider backing that stone.

Nice. Is the material from a thunderegg? Very pretty and unusual.

Stunning! I agree with hummingbirdstones ' suggestion. Here's how it might look with a black backing:

Assuming you want a black background, black jade and basanite are two common options used for opal doublets. I use black jade. But I think that any black stone would do the job. Strength is an issue in choosing a backing for thin opal layers, but that shouldn't be an issue for your agate.
If you don't have any black material, something very dark would still work if the epoxy is blackened. If that's what you choose to do, let me know and I can send you some pigment.

Sounds good and thanks for the offer!
