Yesterday was the first day in at least 6 months that I have cabbed. Life just kept getting in the way. So, I cabbed with a vengeance. I touched up a few, cabbed a few from scratch and redid one. 14 in all.
knave here are your pictures.
Don't mind the psoriasis under my nails.
Pet wood. WARNING- I didn't clean all the polish off all these so some look smeary when they are, in fact, well polished- like this one. Love the yellow.
I see people are calling this aggot maggot, but I can't remember the other name. This is a saw scrap I saved.
An interesting area of a berber agate. You can't see the sparkles and hematite in it. But you can see the black sagenite spray. Very pretty in person- though smallish.
OJ This was twice as big then a side blew out and it had to shrink.
A sugary OJ- I like the sugary stuff less and less. Sure you get some sparkle with it, but it can be a you know what to cab.
A got a beautiful slab of this agate a while ago. It was said to be from Graveyard Point. MUCH nicer in person. My dining room light is not flattering.
This magnaprase has a soft spot that polish got into. Needs to go into the ultrasonic.
bloodstone- I never manage to get good pics of bloodstone.
Nice burro creek tube agate from Tommy.
Indian green moss agate- the specks are where the moss breaks the surface and polish gets in in it. By the magic of PS, I cleaned it up a little. It needs to go in the ultrasonic, too.
An American gem- Oywhee Jasper
probably Texas plume
This was a rework. There are so many different hardnesses in this it was just a pain to get a round. My first attempt was awful. This one is better.
A gorgeous MT agate. I got a new spin on 600 wheel and polished the back, too. Worked like a charm. Should have gotten one sooner. The face has some paste on it hence the smears in the reflection. That's it. Thanks for looking. I hope I don't have to wait another 6 months to cab!

Very nice.........couldn't help but notice the well groomed nails.....how in the world do you manage to keep those "naturals" in such nice condition.....Guess dop sticks help.........!..........polishing compounds play hell on my hands and nails, the cold dry weather doesn't help much either.......then again, my hands are exposed to everything nature has to offer........lol

I cut my nails before I cabbed. They were super long. I've been able to grow long strong nails my whole life. Good genes, I guess. They were way too long to cab with, but I have done it before. I'm getting a lot of psoriasis on my fingers. It's messing with my nails. I used to be an auto body mechanic and painter. My nails were terrific tools.

Nice bunch of cabs
One of these days I have a faceted Maine pale champagne Smokey quartz with either hematite or magnetite inclusions nobody can agree which it is
I’ll try putting it on video if you want to see some sparkles 10mm brilliant round and it’s a killer stone was the last stone that I cut before the bearings went I’ll try on a sunny day

Wow! Great work. Love the wood, the Montana... and that Owyhee is something else... very different than what I usually see.
Interestingly, I have a slab that is similar to your material possibly from Graveyard Point. Mine is said to be from Big Bend (Rio Grande?). I wonder if one of our sources is mistaken, or if it's one of those things where far-apart places produce similar looking stuff. Welcome back to cabbing. Bet it feels good. I know I was quite happy after a long break, not of my choosing. Ah, Life. What happens while I'm busy making other plans...
