My daughter had tumbled some agates in one of those National Geographic tumbler. *blech* I swear the grit embedded itself in the rocks, you could see black specks in the quartz, it's awful. She asked me to re-tumble them so I went out and busted up some of my local stuff and one chunk of green quartz that I got from Banjo. This way I'll know for sure the agates in there are hers. Anyway, while doing this I busted open this very plain looking rock and found a neat surprise. I wish I had taken a picture of the rock before I whacked it, you'd never believe it was like this inside. It had some faint lines on the outside but nothing to give the idea it looked like this inside. Close up, had a hard time getting a good pic but the webbing is really green, it's so pretty. Here's a couple pieces of jasper with some nice swirls in them. Sorry it's not such a good pic, it's gorgeous. Next two, before and after pics. It's like pink agate inside, really neat, very opaque. Here's the whole load, I think it's going to be really interesting and very colorful. Hope I have the small Lortone fixed when this is ready for 120/200. I have the lakers, unakite, green quartz, red jasper, yellow jasper w/ hematite bands, and some idon'tknowite ... just a fun load. Thanks for looking, hope you don't mind but I was bored so thought I'd take pics. Cher

That white/green web rock is real cool looking. The jasper is pretty sweet also.

Thanks you two, I'm as excited about this batch as I was over the my first tumbles. I'm really praying I get some nice pieces to wrap. A lot of it broke in flatter shapes so I might get lucky. Wish I could remember where I found that one with the green webbing in it, I'd like to find more of it.

The third picture of the rock you are not sure of what is looks like the mahogany obsidian I have waiting to be tumbled. If it is obsidian you might not want to tumble it with the harder stuff. Tami

I'm pretty sure it's a blend of red/yellow jasper. I don't know if we have obsidian in our area, although I've heard that about 100 miles south of me they found blue obsidian. Isn't obsidian very glass-like? There is a rock up here that I've found a lot of that is very glass-like when it's broken, but I'm not sure what it is. I'll check if I have a chunk and see if I can get a pic that shows how glassy it looks.
