Since we're looking at poppies, and OP has vanished, guess I can join in... Skykomish River Poppy Jasper from WA Beautiful cab, I really like the polish on the hematite with the yellow and red, nice one.

Do you stabilize the really cracked ones? Or work around them?

Do you stabilize the really cracked ones? Or work around them? Depends how bad it is honestly. I don't have a vacuum chamber to do it properly with Cactus Juice or Opticon, but I've just done crack sealing with Hxtal on slabs before. A lot of it you have to stabilize, it's kind of the nature of California poppy jasper. Mostly I just embrace the fractures lol Also, a lot of the time if you're gentle they hold up fine. As long as they're not super crumbly, which some of it is. I typically don't pick up the crumbly stuff unless I'm keeping it as reference material to prospect the vein. Some of the veins are so crumbly you gotta keep digging to get solid chunks

How about this one? Front and back I thought it was Nguni Jasper since it was from the same provider, but since it looks different from the other Nguni Jaspers I have, I am wondering if it actually has a different name maybe?
