Big horn jasper with orbs and druzy. Picked up 2 slabs of this a while back and have never seen any more. It is supposed to be from WY. Very nice in the hand.
Possibly Jasperella. The claim is said to be near Quartzsite, which would fit in with the Big Horn Mountains ID. Here's an example Wow! Thanks for posing this! I would not have expected to see any kind of a "rind" on this... That is a beautiful slab right there!

I 'won' the auction on ebay for a 20 ounce piece of Lions Den Morgan Hill. I made some cabs a long time ago from the material I got about 15 years ago. Paul ided the cabs. I look and haven't seen it until a few days ago.

Beautiful slab. Too bad someone decided to vandalize it with graffiti!

Beautiful slab. Too bad someone decided to vandalize it with graffiti! Yeah! I’ll have to figure out who that was and have a talk with him.

Here’s some of my Poppy Jasper pieces that I have in my collection. The first is a big chunk and the second is a cab from material found in the Rio Grande River in Texas. The first piece may be mariposa jasper.

Love all the orbs and the salmon color in that first one.

victor1941 - that slab is a "top pocket" find for sure! Like Robin said, the salmon color is stunning in that one.

That first one is one scenic cab! With the white streaks on the left side, it looks like a birch tree in the fall with gorgeous orange leaves falling all around.

jadedivsion: the first one looks like Hornitos and the sixth looks like a negative space pattern from Morgan Hill.

stephan - that cab was amazing! I've been waiting all week to post these pictures. This was some George West Petrified Wood courtesy of Mel ( Sabre52) that I slabbed earlier this week. I was really surprised to find this on the inside of the rough:

I was really surprised to find this on the inside of the rough: Thanks. That stuff is special, and I’ve only found one piece. Good ole river rock. Hard to determine its birthplace. I believe you may have a small slab. For the record, this was one brown rock the SMS shop steward liked(even though he gave me (good-natured) grief at first. That wood is amazing. Is it true orbs, or did you nail the orientation on wormwood? Very cool, either way. Btw, with material like that you can honor Odin on any day ending in y (or g in either German or Norwegian).

Now I'm gonna have to do some digging in my stuff to look for that one! Now you're asking me all kinds of specific questions about that pet wood! LOL I took some close-ups...maybe you're right about the worm holes...that would be equally awesome! Now that you question them, I'm curious to know what they really are...

When you said tiny, tiny orbs, you weren't kidding! If I had that in my hands, I doubt I would have even known it had orbs.
