Lortone doesn’t make saw parts anymore

The motor will be difficult to locate. There are some industry experts that have the parts however, but you will likely find that the cost will exceed that of the whole saw. They are mostly in the restoration business...
You might want to consider hooking up a gravity feed system. By affixing a simple pulley and cable, you may in fact be able to successfully run material, assuming that the vice is in good shape. Haven't done this myself, but it just comes to mind.

Yeah, a gravity feed would be good.
Less things to go wrong with it, and you can easily adjust the weight according to rock size or hardness as needed.

Likely the motor wasn't made by Lortone. A pic. and any further information [shaft sizes], and a pic. of any labels attched to the motor would be helpful in identifying it for purchase in the aftermaket.

All good input thus far. I'd be curious to see what Tony catmandewe has to say.

The vast majority of "dead" shaded pole motors suffer from either a dried grease filled gearbox, or varnished oil on the bronze bushings. Shaded pole motors have very little startup torque. i.e. send me the dead one 3-5 rpm

As oregon said above its most likely not dead, just needs to be taken apart, cleaned up and regreased and put back together. If it is dead then a replacement motor is around $50-80 if you can do a little modification, around $120 if you need an exact replacement motor. If you arent comfortable with taking it apart and putting it back together then send it to oregon or myself and we can go through it for you. Tony
