I have collected rocks/minerals for years and I have some fairly outstanding pieces in my collection, but this is my favorite. It's not a large piece, but the interior pattern is "something else", white with red webbing. I have always thought it was a piece of petrified wood, but lately I've been thinking it might be dinosaur bone? I found it out near the Rio Puerco, South and West of Albuquerque...here are some photos of my most favorite rock. You all tell me what you think it is... Susan PS: And I encourage you to post photos of your "favorites". This one will never be modified...it's way too beautiful as is, although it sure would make some pretty cabs... Thank you, Mama Nature, for revealing it to me. SIDE VIEW END VIEW OTHER END

Very unusual...... looks like a ham ready to smoke, with the "webbing" around it ! <G> donna

I'm gonna take a newbie guess and say some kind of pet wood, because of the concentric ring pattern... Some rocks just speak to us in some way and they wouldnt be as special if they were changed... I really like it, I'm drawn to things with lines and linear qualities... Marian

No idea but it's gorgeous! You must have been very excited when you found that one.

I dare say, that is indeed dino bone. It looks like a few I have had. Pet wood does not have that clarity when it agatizes with spaces in it. wonderful.

That is a neat rock, I would not have expected the ends to look like that, just by looking at the side. Tami

Hmmmmmm At first i said Pet Wood- then I looked closer- Now I would not know a dino bone if it hit me in the head- BUT that looks like the bone from something- It is one cool rock- whatcha gonna do with it- It would be very hard not to take a few slices from it
