I do a series of videos on YouTube where I just pull a box of tumbled rocks out and show them one by one. At the end, I do a slideshow. This rock has been on my coffee table for years, but I never realized how cool it was until today when I took a picture. It has eyes under the red mossy stuff. Any idea what kind of rock this is?

Coolest rock ever coming from you carries some weight. That one is super cool though. Now we know the first layer is moss and the second layer is eyes. I would be way too tempted to see what the middle looks like. Chuck

Thanks for the close up, Chuck. Cutting it never occurred to me. Hmmmm...

Super cool. Face cut or cut in half for sure! The combo of moss and eyes is great and would be preserved, but hiding the inside is a shame, ha!

Wish I could help out with an ID, but I've never seen moss with bullseyes underneath it. Way cool!

Neat! I've seen those rings in some Sagenite Agate I have tumbled. None of mine had that red patterning though.

How cool and bizarre. Gives me the creeps, though. People who know me will be impressed that I said that.

Intriguing, I believe, is the right word for that rock. That and beautiful.
If only you could use some kind of machine to gently grind away some of the red layer for a better look at the bulls eyes. Just kidding. I would hate to mess it up.

Wow, never seen one like it. Guess I’ll have to keep tumbling until I find one…

That really is fascinating! I don't know if I could cut it...I know you wouldn't technically lose anything except the unity of the rock...but it's just so amazing the way it is.
Okay, that's what 53% of my brain is telling me...there's another 33% screaming cut it!
(14% is just a blank deer-in-the-headlights stare...)

Very cool. If you cut it you could lose the aura of mystery locked inside. On the other hand it might reveal something beyond exquisite.

I'm normally one of those people who say cut it! But this one is too unique and perfect as is that even I wouldn't touch it.

It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an inigma. Sorta.
Actually, it is an eye agate that got hit with red overspray.
It is gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. It would be sinful to cut into it. Some things are not meant to be seen by human eyes, and should remain secret.

Is it a bought or found treasure? How big is it? I'm gathering info for my cut it or keep it decision.

It is a beautiful rock. I'd also be torn about whether to cut it or not. You had several other stones that caught my eye in your video too. Especially some of the moss or bouquet agates. I wasn't sure if the darker one was actually a coral fossil of some kind. It had shapes like suns all around it. Very cool rocks. Keep up the excellent videos.
