Beautiful! I would definitely keep it as is. There might be something cool inside, but it would be a shame to ruin it if there isn’t. The “shroud” of moss is too cool. Any idea what it is? And just out of curiosity... how big is it?

And just out of curiosity... how big is it? It's not huge, but not tiny. I'd be a little concerned about cutting. What do you think?

Cutting it, no. Maybe finding a spot to grind a window to see a bit more of the interior. The rock as it is is very nice and unique, really would not want to take away from that.

Since you hadn’t really noticed the depth of its beauty, I kind of figured it was right about that size. That cements my vote for leave it as is.

What a gem! Don't think I would cut that one. Let the mystery remain!

Beautiful rock Rob! I'm in the camp of not cutting it but I would be seriously tempted to grind a flat side on the bottom ... simply so it sits comfortably right? haha I'd love to see if those eyes develop into a pattern free from the moss.

Hey its small enough to be a pocket rock. If having a window to better show the inside structure, ie. that its so unique in being distinct from the outer layer, I'd cut (or grind) a small window on one side. If its flat it will make a better display specimen, and if its a pocket rock it will help increase the interest in the observer. My money clips with an interesting cab generate conversations about rocks or lapidary often when I'm paying for stuff at the store. Communication is part of the reason we are in this game.

Jugglerguy Wowwww! Looking at those eyes make me think of a sci-fi creature😂 You should give it a name!😂Since it appears to be flat on the bottom, could you just take a slice off there to see what other fascinating characteristics it may have inside? No way would I cut it in half though.
