Thanks everyone for the compliments. Think I finally have the page done to my satisfaction so it should be going up on ebay tonight.

Cher, is that wire dead soft? It looks like it was easy to bend around the curves

Yes Tweet, this was all done with dead soft, though the next time I get the half-round I'm going to get half-hard if I can find it. I want something that holds tighter on the bindings.

There's a place in Canada that sells half hard half round by 12" pieces 16 feet for under $10 Cdn - you could probably get it for less than that www.imperialsmelting.com if you're interested they have gold, white gold, paladium (sp?) & all kinds of stuff too

Wow Cher you are very talented! I was just looking at some of your jewelry on ebay. Very nice! Did you teach yourself how to do this or take classes?

Thanks Debs. I'm self taught, looked for classes but there wasn't anything anywhere near me. Asked a lot of questions, looked at a lot of pics and practiced a lot with craft wire. I did a lot of searching the net for any info I could find too and studied it all.

I've been looking at alot of jewelry making magazines trying to get an idea about making jewelry and the stones that are used. What is craft wire and where can you find it? I would love to try this to see what I can do! Thanks much for the help!

I used the ColourCraft wire and had found a place that was pretty reasonable. Let me check my stuff tomorrow, see if I can find a few links for you. The ColourCraft is wire that is like brass or copper with a coloring over it that is supposed to keep it's good looks.

When you use the color coated craft wire, be sure not to temper with a hammer, only squeeze it with a plastic covered pliers. Or the paint will mar and come off. Just a hint..... if you want to hammer, take a piece of leather and put the wire between the leather, then on the anvil and hammer.....
