Hello all, I recently collaborated with a young lady in our rock club to come up with this pendant. She did the PMC (Precious metal clay) and I faceted the "stone". The stone is a round brilliant cut. The precious metal is fine silver. I am impressed with how well she did with the PMC as she had to fit it to the stone (yes, the stone was cut first), figure the shrinkage of the PMC, and somehow get the little flower prongs to work for the stone size. She did the PMC in 3 phases. Artificial lighting: Natural lighting: The piece actually looks better in person than the photos because you can see the flash of all the colors with very little movement of the piece. Thanks for your interest.

Beautiful, PMC is awesome in the right hands. What type of "Stone" is it? I have read the post a few times.

I dabbled with PMC enough to know I suck at it. It ain't easy. She has to be pretty good to pull that beauty off.
Y'all make a good team.

Y'all make a good team. Thanks Tella! She is good at PMC, especially considering that she is quite new at it. She worked hard on this one - even built me a mock-up out of bronze before doing the silver. The prongs were especially challenging since the silver is brittle after baking off the clay, so they had a tendency to break. She eventually contacted one of the experts at Rio Grande to get it figured out. BTW, I can't imagine you not being good at this. You seem to excell in everything else you try.

mossyrockhound that is stunning! Great collaborative effort on both sides. Thanks Robin! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. This was made for my wife a few months ago, but up to now it has not been worn. I think I've just given her too much jewelry or she's just waiting for Christmas!

Nice collaboration. The setting and stone are perfect together. Thanks Beth! Like an old friend told me once, "Two heads are better than one, even if one is cabbage."

Still interested in knowing the "Stone". A friend faceted a glass marble and it looked similar however, I don't think that's it. Thanks

It's a special dichroic glass from China. I Don't think they make it in the U.S. At least I haven't seen it for sale here.
