...it pours. But it sure makes The Rock Garden sparkle! How big is it, you ask? Two of my Shepherds added for size... Hopefully today was the start of the monsoon season. S

Man that's amazing! When you feel like tumbling, do you just got outside & pick a few? I love the green ones, and also the red/yellow one in the lower left! Did you find most of that? *jealousy rears it's ugly head* I guess I know who has all the rocks now! No wonder we have nothing up here! I'd be tempted to swipe them all the time

KD - I have 3 rockhounds... The oldest, at 12 yrs of age, is "Tostada" aka "Toast". Then there is "Isis", who is about 8 yrs old and not in the photo. She's camera shy. "Fitzwilly" is a little over 1 yr of age (black Devil dog - he eats my socks ). They accompany me on most all my rockhounding excursions, and afford me much protection. Susan Tweet - To answer your question, I have personally collected every rock in that garden, and many more. The "good" rock is kept inside the house, along with the "exotic" rock I actually spent $$$ on. Yes, when I need to load a barrel, I go outside and grab some agate or petrified wood or jasper or quartz, and start busting up rock. It's great stress relief. Funny. I don't consider myself a "quantity collector". I despise rockhounds who "vacuum" collecting sites. It has taken me many, many years to collect what I have collected, a few pounds at a time, from many, many sites in many, many states. I have a little ledge that runs around the perimeter of my house, and it used to be loaded with 2 x 2 mineral samples. Then I noticed them disappearing, a few at a time. Now the outside rocks are kept in the backyard where any thieves have to get past the Shepherds. Most thieves are not that stupid. It's only rocks. I guess they're not willing to trade them for their testicles. Susan

That's one BIG beautiful rock garden you have! I was running out of room to store my bigger rocks, so I put them outside. They are kind of in a hidden area where you can't see them from the street. I am hoping they don't come up missing while I'm on vacation. Humm...I think I will write them all down just in case as these are my more expensive rocks. If even one came up missing I would be just sick! It's a shame you can't have anything outside without the fear of someone taking it. We live on a corner so our entire house and yard are in open view. Except for this hidden area. I hope!

You have better than the crappy best I have here, and it's piled up in your back yard. What's wrong with this picture? Wanna make a deal? Most of your castoffs I would call primo. Me and the dogs know quality when we see it. cookie

That would be NM rocks, not MN. *smile* But then, I'd get all the credit for it when you thought they were all from Minnesota huh??
