Has anyone seen barrel lid gaskets for a Lortone QT66/12 tumbler in stock anywhere lately? I burned through one right at the beginning of the pandemic and have been running my only spare since then. I feel like I'm living on borrowed time now. I've been regularly checking for available stock at all the usual places but they remain out of stock everywhere I look. I was just curious if anyone has had any luck finding them anywhere.

The Rock Shed had them a few days ago. I ordered a bunch...looks like I was not the only one...seems they are out of stock again...

I got one too about a month ago. You can call The Rock Shed and Shawn will tell you when he expects more. They have great customer service.

Greetings if everywhere is currently out of stock you can try just repairing it yourself, it is the same as repairing rubber boots. |

Where is it worn through? I have a QT-6 that needed some work on the bolt head. Smoothed out with a coat of epoxy no leaks since.

As a stopgap to reduce gasket wear, place a piece of duct tape over the bolt end on the metal lid (between the gasket and the lid). That's a spot for wear, and the duct tape will really help to reduce it. I know that's not what you asked about, but this may help to extend the life of your gasket. |

If you are talking of the flat round disc, I've cut them out of thick pond liner material.

If you have a local industrial supply company check and see if they have rolls of neoprene rubber in stock. Our local store has 3' wide rolls that they will sell cuts from by the linear foot for around $1 per square foot (the last time I purchased). I've cut several gaskets for saws and one for a tumbler from this material and they have all worked well.

I love how the members here are so supportive of each other! Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I appreciate it.
I do use duct tape to cover the bolt head on the lid under the gasket. It does help extend the life.
I think I'll try an experiment with epoxy on one of my lids.
If/when the current gasket wears through I'll try one of the suggested McGyver methods.

I believe he has gotten good performance out of that method. |
