I wish I had a dedicated workspace. I'm currently setting up a temporary table in the backyard when I work, and then taking it down.

With CA weather, that works better here than it would in many other places, so it's just a bit of a pain, but winter work is not out of the question.

This thread was inspired by a conversation I had with a guy from work. We got talking about weekend plans and I said I need to get the shop cleaned up to put in the new saw (anyone have any tips for cleaning out old oil sludge?) and what a beast it will be with all the rocks I have spread around. He told me I should just "dump all the rocks in a bucket, they'll be fine." Hmph.

Normally my workshop is a shared space in the basement with half workshop and half finished basement for the kids to hang out. When covid hit and shut our bowling alleys down for 6 months we built a practice bowling lane right down the middle so my son could keep training. The lane is in sections and can be moved but so far I have just left since my son uses it a good amount. The slab saws, larger trim saws and an 8" two wheel arbor stay in the garage.

33 tubs are full of slabs I have cut. I figure that is about 500 pounds of slabs

I think when it is clean down there I enjoy being down there more. If I leave it a mess I dread going back down next time. OCD and a lapidary shop is not the easiest combination.
