Nice. I bet that window in the top of the cover will not stay that clean for long. When the grunge gets so thick that the window is not of use in viewing the blade, I conclude that its time to change the oil. Its a real good measure of how much particulate matter is in the oil. Enjoy the saw.

Way to go! I'm glad all went well on this one! And that slab looks beautiful as well! It's a great "supporting actor" in these pictures!

stephan - Thank you!! I've seen small pieces (like tumbler size) but never anything that impressive (or the innards). Wow. One more to put on my acquisition list....

Better get a second job if you want material like that. I think the deposit is dug out, and lots of sellers seem to think they’re selling gold. Crazy prices on Etsy, eBay and amazon for slabs that are nowhere near that quality. There is a material called Indonesian river jasper that looks similar, and is generally better priced, but is also starting to come up.

Like I said, they can look very similar. Good thing Roy is one of the honest guys. When I first saw the Indonesian material (years ago, at the Valley Springs Pow-Wow), the seller warned that a lot of it was being sold as OJ. Gotta wonder, how much more of that stuff is yet to be discovered on islands along the Ring of Fire. Kind of like PJ being found all along our West Coast.
