Just when you thought the NevadaBill guy had done finished posting all of his latest creations and had disappeared in to the woodwork for another 3 months (sound familiar?!?), and it might be safe to visit the wire wrapping forums again...
Here is yet another batch of my latest creations. I will try to use less words this time so that I don't put everyone to sleep.
P170 - Copper Mine Bead Twist - I have a lot of the green material. After a while I just started referring to it as Copper mine rocks. Probably too much of this material. I do like the bail. I think I will go back to making a couple more with this bail this week.
P171 - Holt Jasper Striped Beads - Small gauge wire on a medium sized rock. Not sure what I had in mind, but I executed it. Sometimes the result is not what you expected though. I should probably remove the wire and try over, but this took a while.
P172 - Dioptase Basic Tear - More basic green rock, mixed with a dark one (I was told that it could be Limonite by another Vegas local rockhound).
P173 - Gunlock Thin Agate - Some of the Gunlock Agate (Chert if you will) is swirly and weird. Here is one of them. It might show better if I knew how to take a picture. The background rock is another local find from Nevada's Frenchman mountain; which was once described by a fellow RTH expert as being possibly Monzonite. I wrote an article post on it once and use massive examples as yard decoration rock.
P174 - Mishahapen Chrysocolla Blob - Front - Some of the rocks I wrap are meant to be seen from both sides (or could be if they flipped over). Here is one (front)
Here is the (back). The shape is so odd (the way I ground it down), that it was very difficult to get wire around it. Not high quality, but I just like the blue.
P175 - Fat Simple Dioptase Tear - This is a really chubby rock with no girdle to speak of. Another mine tailings rock. This is about the point when I started using different colors of binding wires. Experimenting.
P176 - Fat Dioptase Dolomite Cow - Here is another of my pieces of Dioptase, Dolomite, and Limonite. Reminds me of a tri-colored cow for some reason. The pink was described to me by a fellow RTH'er and local rock expert as being Dolomite which is stained by Iron Oxide. Even though I have rarely ever seen any of it, he has very large rock specimens about the size of a bowling ball. So it is more common than I know.
P177 - Tiny Copper Mine Bambi - Here it is. This is about 1/2 inch tall. And my first attempt failed and I pulled off the wire wrap, and put it on another rock. No girdle. 24 and 28 gauge. I see a small deer standing in a field. Doesn't it look like a baby deer head (eyes, nose, ear)? I think so. At any rate it is miniscule and I found a way to wrap it.
That is about it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Bill,
I love reading the commentaries...and I have a tendency to get wordy in my own threads, so I'm all for "verbose"! LOL
I like them all! To me, the Fat Dioptase Dolomite Cow really stands out. I really like the two-tone binding wires on this one. In the pic it makes the center binding wire look pink...which I'm guessing isn't really the case...but it looks really cool!

Lovely! You can never have too much copper mine rough. People love it. Really!
My favorite is the Gunlock out of this group. What a way cool and beautiful stone. Great job on the wrap, too. The silver and the copper complement the colors in the stone so well. Great job!
BTW, I also love reading your descriptions and some of the names you come up with make me laugh. Don't stop!

I have started mixing wire colors on the binding wires lately. A bunch of work after this batch will also have the mixed colors. I think that you are right, now that I take a look at it. The picture does make it look like pink wire on the sides.
I am sure that I don't have Champaigne Gold colored wire as of the date of this picture though. But it looks like it all right.

Thank you, Robin! It is very nice of you to say so! I also like the Gunlock specimen here too. Unfortunately I don't have much of it; perhaps only 2 cabs out of all of them. Maybe I have some more sitting in a pile of cabbing stock and will do another some day soon!

Nice wraps. Please no not abandon the creative descriptions. Thank you, Beth! Another vote for more verbose descriptions. I appreciate the compliment as well. Your wraps are always so beautiful and expressive!
