We have a good friend who wants to make some short horn cow intarsias. His brother has them in Texas. At first we were going to slab some plain Bruneau we have because we thought he was just making 2. Yesterday he informed us that he needs 8 of them. We don't have enough Bruneau for a whole herd!
I'm looking for plain, medium brown boring jasper (no pattern) rough that will polish.
If anyone has anything like that, please let me know (or if you see any for sale somewhere). Hey, Billy toiv0 do you have any in those 100 buckets somewhere?
Thank you!

The slabs will need to be about 3" x 3"ish, but I'd really like to get a piece of rough so we can cut the slabs. The slabs need to be thin (not sure the mm width on that).
Thanks, Billy. Appreciate it.

It's dark and cold outside now. I haven't found the Bruneau, just a few small slabs of bad brown (I think) Morrisonite. I'm red green color deficient. I did find a 2 pound piece of bad brown Willow Creek. My son who can tell red from green said it is brown.

It needs to be solid brown (this one has a lot of color variation) and it looks like it may have too many pits.
I appreciate it, though!

Hi Robin. I picked this up a couple years ago out collecting. I haven’t cut it because it looks to be just too plain brown! But you are welcome to it if you’d like. Background is an oak table for color comparison.

ETA: I think I need to clarify. If the stone is brown like the color at the bottom of the picture on the side, that would work, I think. Can you take a picture of the side? Sorry I'm being a pain.

Thanks for the effort, John. I really appreciate it.
I guess what I'm looking for in color is more of a milk chocolate brown.

Hi Robin, If you decide to make it a Holstein cow, let me know, I got you covered. Unfortunately, it's not my call. Our friend is the one who is doing these things. He just wanted us to do the material and slabs for him.
Sometimes it ain't easy being me.
