Cool work. Can’t wait to see the finished product. The girdle looks great.
I should get one of those magnifying glasses.

Ah yes, pics of shiny things are hard, especially with a phone. I have a lot of cabs that look better in-person than on-sreen. Many are unposted, as I continue to try to get a good picture.
I guess I misread the phrase “still being done” as in progress.
Best wishes to your photographer.

LOL I changed the wording on that section. I think my photographer (dad) is doing fine, just going stir-crazy after only a week in quarantine. They're not showing any symptoms. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

Very nice, Jason! Girdle is nice and even and the dome is lovely. Great job! Thanks Robin! I drew a line for the girdle and the magnifying glass enabled me to see exactly where I was at with regards to contact point between the cab and wheel. This just got A LOT more fun!

Because the pictures are much larger they can often show "flaws" that are not visible to your eye. But that is why we use magnification to inspect as we work.

That's why I got that magnifying lens/light to work under. The white "specks" that are showing up in the pictures are actually all under the surface. I actually don't see any flaws in the surface, even with my 50x magnifying lens. I just need to get better pics! LOL Very cool looking cab, great job on it. Thanks Diane! I think it's my best one so far (with a lot of room to improve though LOL), only because of the girdle being so even on this one compared to my previous ones. Baby steps, and with each one either something newly learned or a slight improvement from the previous ones. Thanks Tela! I know where I want to be...and I'll get there! Nice work, Jason. I should probably get one of those fancy magnifying thingies! Thanks Mike! I hesitated when my wife and I were at Menard's because it was $55. I only wanted an elbow light, but she kind of "pushed" me into getting this one. I wasn't convinced I'd like it. Over the last year or so, I've found I need reading glasses for close-up work...and reading really fine print! This lens makes it seem like I have perfect eyesight and like I am 2" from the stone. It comes with a 5x lens and a 3x lens. The 3x lens seems to be perfect. I haven't tried it with the 5x lens, so it's tucked away in the cabinet surrounded with foam for now.

Good job Jason. I like the colors in this one. Thank you so much! I really didn't believe my wife when she said there was purple in it. I kept telling her I only saw tones of gray. Thankfully I only got the look saying "I told you so"...rather than having to hear her say the words! LOL
