Thanks Dave! I've been taking pics with my phone while my dad is quarantining. Once he's cleared, I've "hired" him to be my rock photographer...and by hired, I mean I asked him to do it so my mom would quit bugging him about not using all those "dang" cameras he bought! LOL I've been posting the pics from my phone via Tapatalk, so little editing options. Once I get my dad back to the real world and he can take the pics, I'll transfer them to my PC, where I can do some editing.

I’m still confused, I guess. You’re not talking about the girdle being 7mm tall? No. If you thicken the girdle at the corners, you can then feather the parts of the girdle back that are too thick. Ok, I’m being slow today (in my defense, each of the last three days was at least a week long), but I THINK I get it. You’re talking going in (laterally) from the point, not 7mm in height. I hope that’s it. If not, I’ll try again in a couple of days. 🤔😬😂🤯

jasoninsd I always thought I was wabi-sabi personified. I think that’s why I like Stone Canyon, poppy, and crazy lace (and anything else that is difficult to work, it seems) so much. Do we have arm-wrestle (virtually, of course), or can we come-chair it? I would suggest odd-even alternation, but I suspect any true wabi-sabi connoisseur would pick odd.

I don't think it odd that I was thinking odd. Being as there's two of us self proclaimed wabi-sabians at the present time, I feel we need to find a third self professed wabi-sabian in order to uneven it out...or perchance we could get a whole slew of wabi-sabians, so long as the final count is a prime number of participants...that would be truly wabi-sabianesque! I think I know a couple guys who need either a lot of sleep...or a lot more coffee!

1dave - Who would've known this hobby was going to entail vast knowledge in geography, geology, lapidary arts, and a degree in photography! LOL - Figuring out how to manipulate pictures is on my "to-do" list! Don't forget Norse mythology.

Also, love your lightbox. Perfect idea! Hey Mel! I searched and searched for a video on YouTube for making domes, but never ran across one that I felt really showed anything. Maybe another member will see this and chime in for a great video. I had read a couple threads on the "how to's", but a member sent me this link which helped kick in the visual learning I was wanting from the video. Take a look at this pdf, there's a great visual on the left side showing the angles for the dome. See if this helps - it helped me get a good "picture" and transfer it from brain to hand. If it doesn't help you, we'll try and figure something else out... nassaumineralclub.org/pdf/howtocab.pdf

One problem with the link though....what I can ONLY work in loose, fringed clothing with a million necklaces on (Mr T style!).....? OH NO WHAT DO I DOOOOOO!!! Kidding, obviously. Because, let's be honest, everyone knows I want to work in a spandex unitard.**This is why I'm not allowed on the internet unsupervised.

You could start your own YouTube channel and have your very own reality show! ....can I use the tens of cents-es profits to buy rocks? Neighbors already think I'm weird from my garbage bag poncho days, I'm pretty sure spandex would lead to a call from the mental health authorities.
