For the last year or so, I have had terrible tip of the tongue syndrome. Words just escape me. They are right on the tip of my tongue but I can't for the life of me remember what they are. I don't think it is a side effect from my daily meds. I also forget things, where I never really did before. Here lately, I've been really worried about my memory and some kind of (early) dementia. My dad had vascular dementia. So, I did some research and ran across a test online. Turns out it's normal age related memory issues. But, man- it sure scared me!!!
Any of you notice this issue as you age?

Yes, ma'am, sometimes. I recently purchased a SFRB of slabs from an RTH member and told him that what he did before was fine. Problem is, I had never made a purchase from this particular member. I mixed him up with someone else. Either it's an old age and memory issue or an issue of too many rocks.

Sounds like something I would do. I have a hard time remembering names, but I have always been that way. So embarrassing.

Good point Tela Best with all future issues I think my issues are mostly normal aging problem This shaking of hands is disconcerting. I’ve always had it. Not getting any better. And the brain and body are really showing increasing signs of breaking down. Little things all the time. One of them is going to be major. My cognitive abilities were never superior But with a younger will- those smarts were enough to let me slip by. This solitariness and noticeable cognitive slipping Welll… I’m starting to feel really vulnerable World moving fast. Lots of young hustlers about. Want to move out on my own. I didn’t do it 20 years ago because I didn't feel like I was strong enough to be on my own. Lots end up homeless that way. Lose a job Ugghh. That it. Don’t take much. Homeless problem for seniors now in Phoenix is a BIG problem Now that I have stable regular income its just enough to get by on own, maybe. I’m looking into senior style apartment. Really tough to find. I could go into a private place. But that risky. Have to get a gun and I’m sure that would end badly I’m disappointed. Due to the pandemic Amazon isn’t doing the seasonal hiring this year. I really could have used that income for a cushion O well... I think I'm truly retired. Anyway I have been really lucky with health. Long may it roll Now what were we talking about Ha!

Ageing is not for the faint of heart, as they say.
I hear ya about feeling vulnerable. I feel more vulnerable than I did when I was younger, too.
I am trying to find a place for my MIL to live right now. Granted it's a nursing home and not what you were talking about, but I have learned that it helps to talk to a social worker. Also, in Virginia Beach there is an office that helps people find housing. It's the kind of thing that keeps people off the streets. Maybe you can see if you have something like that there. You never know what kind of help is out there until you ask.
Sorry to hear about Amazon.

Any of you notice this issue as you age? Yes. Doesn't matter who I am talking to, or what the subject is. Some words just escape me. I'll be talking with my Dad, and more and more often, I find myself telling him "I lost my words." Happened today talking with my DH, but did come up with it an hour or so later. I wonder if there is an island of lost words somewhere? LOL.

Tela, your troubles seem to be the norm. Sometimes the word is recalled later in the day. At 79, I make a routine and follow it. This works for some situations.

And there has to be one for all the words my wife said she told me but never got to my ears!( I know I am thin ice with that one!!)

Any of you notice this issue as you age? Happens to me all the time with the words lately, and I'm only 36. The things I forget I suddenly remember at 2am and then can't sleep.

I had problems even raising a spoon full of cereal to my mouth without shaking it all over the place before I found it. It scared me a bit. I guess it was stress related. Completely harmless if it doesn't work, no side effects. Just an extract of green tea

It is a bit relaxing, and mellows out your thoughts (provides sharper focus, as opposed to wandering thoughts) Nothing like meds though, it's very subtle and smooth, as nature most often is. Let me know what you think if you do give it a shot

Any of you notice this issue as you age? Yep, I'm experiencing it more at age 61. I'm often at a loss for words despite having a decent vocabulary and memory. It's frustrating but I temper the feeling by reminding myself that I more than compensate for it by the common sense and intuition gained from life experience. I'd venture a guess that I've never been more cognitively keen in my life and am reminded of it by working daily with "kids" in their 20's who "fear" me because of my machiavellian penchant to mess with their minds. I don't take my current good fortune for granted because my poor mother who is 80 has dementia and it's horrifying. Getting old isn't for sissies.
