Just found this forum today! transplanted the entire family from Oahu about a year ago and discovered rocks!
My daughter and I want to upgrade our rock tumbler. our little national geographic tumbler finally broke with a cracked barrel and nearly burned out motor. Was looking at the Lot-o tumbler or reytech TV 10. I like lot-0 since it's made in the USA, but wasn't sure they were still in business and I could get new parts or bowls
will try do more reading on the forum, but need to get this thing ordered in time for 'you know what."
would appreciate your input about getting started, about the switch to a vibrating tumbler.
Mahalo from the high desert.

Welcome to the forum from south central Arizona. I don't have a tumbler so can't help you on that but I'm sure you'll find some great information on the forum.

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! I'll let the more experienced tumblers put they're two cents in with regards to recommendations. I will say I do know that numerous manufacturers are so far behind with production due to Covid delays. So, just a heads up on that...

yes, i was doing a quick search for lot-0....out of stock. Was even tempted to spend a bit more for the thumler... also sold out at the rockshed. She may be getting an I.O.U in a big empty box.

Welcome from Northern Arizona!
There is a one-barrel one on Ebay. It's the last one.

Did a bit more reading last PM. Seems like we’re gonna want both a rotors tumbler and vibrating one. Hmm gonna have to update the budget. Maybe we’ll start with a thumler ar 12. As an upgrade first. Is the model B much better? Or just bigger?
Aloha. Olomana

Welcome from the Desert Southwest! I am not an expert, but I would recommend a Rotary tumbler first. They are better at Shaping rocks in to the round shape in my experience. They can also polish too! But you will need patience as the Vibratory tumbler seems better in this area. I can't afford new tumblers, so I just buy them off of Ebay, used. Best of luck!
