My parents are newly retired and their new hobby is going to Lake Michigan (Leland Area) and collecting rocks to polish. They have a dual drum rotary rock tumbler from Harbor Freight.
Since I know nothing about rock tumbling/polishing I thought I would ask the pros!
I would like to get them tumbling media/grit/polish for a Christmas gift.... any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Looking to spend under $75.
Thank You!

Rockhunter976, Chuck gave you some great advice on tumbling grit/polish. The next step is to find out what the rock is and how long it should be tumbled in each step. Should your parents enjoy the hobby they will probably want to upgrade to a better machine. The Rock Shed carries better machines and is where I buy my supplies.

Yeah, get to know the Rock Shed. I think damn near everyone here will recommend them. The customer service is great and very helpful. They are open to questions.
