Would you share what you think you did to get the “shine”. I have only managed it once in four batches...Rocket

I tumbled the batch four times each with the gradually finer material. I did 3 pounds of rocks, the grit, water to just over the top of the rocks, then filled with the plastic nubs to three quarters mark of the barrel container. I tumbled each batch seven days. The last tumble I add one tablespoon of borax powder. Hope this helps.

Are these local WI rocks, or did you order/trade them? I'm new, and that's quite a variety! Good shine.

Two of the rocks in the lower left side of the first pic are agates from Lake Superior. The rest are all from SE WI Lake Michigan. I find these wax feeling rocks. When i tumble them they are partly translucent with and/or black, yellow, orange, and brown streaks. Cool when i shine light through them. Most likely marble? I'd like to display them with some kind of back light.

I'd like to get the green square rock identified in the first picture. Is it Jasper?

Congrats on your batch kozman ! The green rock looks a bit like the Unakite (epidote?) I see people finding in the Great Lakes rockhounding videos.

Bought it on Amazon. Could not find a model number but it is a 3 pounder capacity. I thought is was expensive at 62$ but then again I was born in the 50's. This in my first tumbler so I have nothing to review it against. It comes with several extra belts which I thought was nice. Only issue so far is the top is hard to get off and very hard to get on for me. My son has the same model and says he has no issue. I'll have to have him try mine. (btw, Go Pack )

I have the same thing. I works but I ditched the belts and got replacement belts from Amazon. I got the ones that replaces the Chicago Tumbler, it looks like the same as what you got. The belts are a better fitting belt, which makes the tub rotate better. I think the belts that come with the tumbler fits too loose. Plus they look too dry already had one brake on me and it was only on for 6 months. Another thing you should purchase is a small fan. It keeps the motor cool. I think the largest failure rate on these things is the motor over heating and belts breaking. Anyway have fun.
