i thought i had more of Gaeter's stuff in this batch, so more coming up next batch but here are some finished: here are some rocks my aunt sent me from Del Rio, Texas...she isn't a rock hound so she wasn't really sure what she was sending, but there is some nice stuff here: some mexican lace, some of it is very reddish: and of course, the do overs, the stragglers, filler, etc. there is a tiny finger of Breneau Jasper in there and some autumn japser that has been through so many cycles of polish that i have lost track. thanks for looking, KD

no, Ron, i never did get up north this year (yet). first there was big black fly season and then it got so stinking hot here i shelved the idea until it gets a little cooler. i'll remind my girlfriend, she's probably forgotten. thanks for the reminder.

kd very nice batch of tumbles. are you saying you cannot get a shine on the autumn jasper? ok this will cause much confusion with the name game that was going on in this thread but i'm pretty sure these are sunset jasper and autumn jasper in these pics. i know banjo's not here to ask what he used for polish but when he gets back you might ask him as it looks like he got a good shine. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Pictures&thread=1103043339&page=1 yours look like they shined in the pics kd. kim

Kim! you have finally unraveled this thread!! you are right! the stuff i couldn't get a polish on was the ZEBRA jasper. the sunset jasper (the stuff with the hematite) polishes great. the reddish stuff, what i know now as the Real Autumn Jasper...man i was so confused for so MANY years on this...
i feel an epihany coming on!

I have some of Gaetz stuff in coarse right now and this makes me sooo excited about it! I have a tendency to move on too soon but now I want to get great shape like THAT! Think I see a near perfectly matched set of earings in that last pic. Hard to come by Beautiful batch, as usual! cookie

KD - Gorgeous, love the Bruneau finger. I have some Bruneau I threw into the redo pile - someday... S PS: Kim, I seem to remember Banjo saying he had a hard time getting the Sunset Jasper to shine.

KD, That is a wonder assortment...I collected agate/Jasper in Utah...looks similar to the material from Gaetz. I think the shine in the second and third picture down is amazing! Whenever I hear Del Rio Texas, I think of the old Don Imus comedy bits...love those rocks better that the comedy. csroc
